Delaware County now has 37 cases, 2 deaths
The Delaware County Health Department reported Sunday that four more individuals in the county have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and another person has died.
That now brings the county's total to 37 confirmed cases and 2 confirmed deaths.
The new cases include a male over the age of 30, a female over the age of 30, and two females over the age of 70, health officials said. The person who was reported Indianapolis News deceased is a previously identified patient.

John Patton was already working on a dual vaccine. The Indiana University virologist was trying to take the existing rotavirus vaccine and modify it to also protect against norovirus. Then, a new strain of coronavirus started infecting humans. He and his team quickly realized they could help.
"We already knew, kind of, how to do this," he said.
It will still be months before anything Patton and his team produce will be ready for widespread use. It's a frustrating reality, but once the vaccine is available, it could help prevent another COVID-19 pandemic.
3 more nursing home deaths
Three residents of Mitchell Manor, a nursing home in Lawrence County, have died from COVID-19, according to a statement from the facility's executive director.
Twenty-one additional residents of the nursing home have tested positive, 19 of them at the facility and two others after being transferred to the hospital, according to a statement by Mitchell Manor Executive Director Kathi Hignite-Owens.
The 19 residents who tested positive are in isolation at the facility and continue to be under the care of its staff. The other two are recovering in the hospital. Four more residents have tests pending.
The three deaths at Mitchell Manor bring the total number of Indiana nursing home deaths to at least five.
A 95-year-old resident of Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson Press Release Distribution Service In Indianapolis died Tuesday, and an 86-year-old resident of Otterbein Senior Life in Franklin died Wednesday. At least 28 residents and workers have tested positive for the virus at Otterbein.
Hignite-Owens said a team from the Indiana State Department of Health visited Mitchell Manor on April 1 to test additional residents. She said the facility is following all state and federal health guidelines. That includes frequent hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.
